Milad E Sherief Memorial (MSM) College, named in respectful commemoration of the sacred birth of holy prophet of Islam, was founded in 1964 by the late Al Haj P.K.Kunju sahib, a far sighted visionary and an eminent Minister in the Govt. of Kerala. The Institution situated in the heartland of the historic town of Kayamkulam, was envisaged to provide a powerful impetus to the social upliftment of the downtrodden masses through Education. The College which was started on humble premises with minimal facilities, has since then traversed a path of rapid and steady progress in terms of expanding infrastructure and widening horizons of academic service. The concerted effort of the Management, staff and the student community has been instrumental in the development of the College into a centre of learning and academic excellence. Affiliated to the University of Kerala, M S M College conducts Under Graduate programmes in as many as fourteen subjects and Post Graduate courses in six disciplines. Hostel facilities are available for female students. The Institution is expected to scale greater heights under the spirited guidance and able leadership of the current Chairman Janab P.A. Hilal Babu. M S M College also takes pride in an eminent alumni that is diasporically present all over the world.
