Story Writing

The Department of Hindi, MSM College, Kayamkulam, successfully organized the Inauguration of the Spoken Hindi Course and the Hindi Story Writing Competition on 11 August 2026. The programme had originally been scheduled for 31 July 2026; however, owing to continuous heavy rainfall and the declaration of holidays for nearly a week, it was postponed and conducted on the above date.

The programme commenced with a prayer song presented by Pavitra and team, invoking blessings for the successful conduct of the event. Naja Fatima of commerce department delivered the welcome address and warmly welcomed the Principal, faculty members, and students.

The Spoken Hindi Course was formally inaugurated by Prof. (Dr.) Mohammed Thaha A., Principal, MSM College, Kayamkulam. In his inaugural address, he emphasized the importance of learning Hindi as a language of communication, academic development, and national integration. He also appreciated the efforts of the Department of Hindi in promoting Hindi among students through such meaningful initiatives.

Following the inauguration, the Hindi Story Writing Competition was conducted with enthusiastic participation from students representing various departments. The competition provided an excellent platform for students to express their creativity, imagination, and command of the Hindi language through original stories.

A distinctive feature of the programme was that it was entirely coordinated and conducted by the students. Sinimol, a student of B.A. Politics, efficiently coordinated the programme. The active involvement of students in organizing the event reflected their leadership, teamwork, and organizational skills.​

​The programme concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by Nivedya Soman of B.A. History , who expressed sincere gratitude to the Principal, faculty members, participants, and everyone who contributed to the success of the programme.

The event was photographed by Kashinath and Adityan Manoj, students of Commerce department, who documented the proceedings and captured the memorable moments of the occasion.

The programme concluded successfully, fulfilling its objective of encouraging students to enhance their Hindi communication skills and nurturing their literary creativity through active participation  .

Premchand Jayanti - Speech & Drawing Competition

Report on Premchand Jayanti Celebration 
On the special occasion of Premchand jayanti on 31st July 2025;Hindi department organised speech and drawing competition. The event was conducted in the conference hall at 10:00 a.m. Students from various departments actively participated in the competitions. An honorary tribute was offered to ‘KathaSamrat ‘ – Munshi Premchand. A documentary featuring his life was also presented.His writings reflect social reality and encourage us to raise voice against chaos, exploitation and unjust deeds of the society.The topic of the competition being ‘Art forms and Festivals of Kerala’ will be beneficial for the students as they are studying MDC of Hindi , ‘Keral Ke Tyohar and Keral Ki Kalayen.’This also aids them to have a deep understanding of Kerala culture and Art forms.
